Solving 2001 Saab 9-5 ABS/TCS/CEL Problem
This 2001 Saab 9-5 came in with just about every light lit up on the dash. The first code I pulled was a P1625 for the CEL which indicates a communication error between the ABS unit and the PCM. After looking into this code I found out this is a common problem with these Bosch ABS units. Rather than purchasing a new unit however I decided to send the existing ABS unit off to BBA Remanufacturing for remanufacture. Some of these units require that you pair a new unit up with the PCM, mine was one of those so sending off my existing unit made the most sense because if I had just gotten a remanufactured one I would have had to program it to work with the cars PCM. This took a bit longer but it saved me quite a bit of trouble in the end.
