Servicing Automatic Transmissions
It’s a good idea to change out the automatic transmission fluid at regular intervals. For specifics on that, consult your service manual or owner’s manual. It’s also important that you use the correct fluid. Some manufacturers use a specific fluid in their transmissions; stray from this recommendation, and you could damage your transmission. Some transmissions have a replaceable filter. It’s a good idea to replace this filter at the same time you replace the fluid, but it’s not always required. Once again, check the service manual for your vehicle’s specific requirements. Here are some videos on changing transmission fluid on a variety of different vehicles. Perhaps one of them can apply to your vehicle.

Hi Eric, Have you ever changed the Transmission Filter on an All Wheel Drive Automatic Tansmission form a 2006 Nissan X-Trail (seems is a T-30 code), as I cannot remove ONE last nut that holds the filter. I saw a video from other person using some pressure pliers to hold the bolt and then using a 10 mm open wrench to unscrew the nut.
Do you recommend this action? Do you need a “special tool”?

What’s up Eric? Quick question, I’m changing automatic transmission fluid on 2016 honda civic 2.0, and it has no dipstick to check fluid level. What do I do? My manual says it takes 2.9 quarts, but when I drained the fluid less than that came out? Plz help.

You should have measured the quantity that came out. You put back in the same amount that you take out. You refill slowly, whether you have a dipstick or not.
