P = The type of code it is

• P= Powertrain
• B= Body
• C= Chassis
• U= Network

0 = What kind of code it is

• 0= SAE
• 1= Manufacture Specific

4= What type of error it is

• 1= Fuel and Air Metering
• 2=Fuel and Air Metering – Injector Circuit
• 3= Ignition Systems Misfire
• 4= Auxiliary Emission Controls
• 5= Vehicle Speed Control and Idle Control System
• 6= Computer Output Circuit
• 7= Transmission
