Cleaning diesel engine with diesel

I have whatched your videos for some time and became a fan of you! I really like how you explain things and solve problems practically. A week ago i changed my cars oil ( OPEL Vectra b 2.0 dti 16v) and surfing in youtube i saw a few videos about dielsel engine flushing with diesel. Soo…
My question (maybe also idea for ETCG video) about flushing a cars engine with diesel before oil change (pour old oil out, flush 2-3 times with diesel and then pour new oil in (also filter)).
Do you have any previeus expierence with that?
Does the flushing really helps your engine?
Any risks?
Does it works on petrol engines as well?
