      have a 1999 jeep cherokee 4.o liter inline 6.the air bag light is on.so.i scan it.it gave me code p.o.1698 anyone know what that is.

        Your ECM is not getting data from the TCM…

          As pointed out that code is for a communication issue between the engine computer and the transmission computer. That could indicate a problem with the wiring, connectors, or the computers themselves. To find out you’ll have to do some troubleshooting.

          It does not say why the SRS light is on however.
