I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 130,000 KM in the local shop with a shot cam shaft and needing lifters for cylinder #2. Cost $5800CAD. They seem to have sourced 1 set of four and say they just can’t find any more. Would it be crazy to go ahead and let them replace only four lifters or wait a month or possibly longer for a full set? Is this a no no for professional mechanics? Heavy duty lifters seem to be avaiable but this means deleting the MDS and I’m not sure if there would be additional installation costs.

Thanks. Not really a surprise. Trying to find a solution, bloody frustrating! If the cost wasn’t bad enough now I’m looking at a long indeterminate wait as well. I’m now looking at the valve lifter offerings on Ebay. If anyone has experience of Ebay lifters (good/bad brands or sellers) let me know.
