Crank/ No start on Honda Civic LX 1997 was created by boparaitj
My Civic 1997 cranks but no start. Im stuck.

It started and ran the last time it was on. I stalled while i was on the highway and its never started since then. But it cranks so its not the starter, or battery/ alternator. I was thinking ignition switch, but it cranks so?? Its not seized.

Heres the diagnosis

Fuel pump works > Im getting fuel pressure to the fuel pump filter
I have spark at plugs- Distributor works
Theres oil in the engine, albeit dirty oil
Main relay is okay too - no clicking, and I checked it all the joints are perfect.
I dont see anything wrong, could it be the timing?

So im thinking ignition switch, but other then that im lost. I could use any and all suggestions, Thank you

Step 1 of FASTTEC is Fuel.
1. Spray starting fluid, carb cleaner, etc. in the intake and crank it. Does it start momentarily? If so, you're not getting fuel.
2. Pull a spark plug immediately after cranking. Does it smell of fuel? If not, you're not getting fuel.

Thanks for your promt reply.
I will try this tomorrow. I do smell fuel in the engine bay after I crank but I will double check.
