Honda Element Water Pump was created by HondaLove
Hello,

I am looking for advice on changing the water pump for a 2003 Honda Element. Mine is over 260k and the pump has a slow leak after driving. This vehicle is the wife's daily driver so getting it back together the same day is always a plus. I have found some video about doing the pump on k series engines in CRV's and other vehicles. From what I hear creative use of wobble and universal sockets will likely be required.

I appreciate any guidance that is available from past battles.

Thank you

I just did one yesterday. It is a little time consuming and yes I did use a wobble socket to run out the bottom three water pump bolts. If you're novice, you may want to pay a shop. But if you think you've got a decent set of tools and some time, go for it.

Thank you,

I prefer to do all of my own work, but I have no garage, it is winter, and the snow keeps coming. I found a Honda certified guy who will swap the pump, hoses, and thermostat at his home garage for just over 300. I'm going there Wednesday.
