      i have a 2002 chrysler pt cruiser that will crank but in order for it to start and stay running i have to hold on the feul peddle otherwise it wont stay running it has new head gasket and new intake seals

        Did the problem start after the head gasket or intake gasket replacement? Did you check the condition of the throttle body?

          it did happen after the intake and head gasket replacement and no i have not looked at the throttlebody but it appears to be relativly new

            Any codes?

            I would look at the intake gasket again to make sure it is sealing. If you can keep it running long enough to get it into closed loop, what are your fuel trims? Off the top of my head, sounds like it is running lean.

              Have you thoroughly checked that all wiring, etc. was properly reassembled after the head gasket job? Have you checked the IACV?
