Hey folks, I recently got a tail light in for my 2011 Mustang, but there are some slight imperfections. Namely a small crack, a small rub mark and a very fine scratch.

My main concern is the crack. I’m not sure how to best fix it. At first I thought some epoxy with dye would do just fine, but it turns out the crack is too shallow to allow for that.

I could take a Dremel and make a small V and then fill that, but I think I would just cause more damage.

I’ve also seen the plastic welders, but I’m not sure about those from what I’ve seen.

If anyone has any ideas, I’m open to them! Pictures are attached.

      Thanks!

THere are lots of kits to fix cracks but most of them are for big cracks. Yours, I would get some good super glue, I buy the little tubes of Gorilla glue super glue. A very thing bead of it after cleaning the crack with some rubbing alcohol and you probably wont even be able to see it. The rubs and scratches, you could try a polishing compound but I would try toothpaste first, then a paste make of baking soda.

Thanks for the reply. Out of curiosity, I tried the paste method for the rub marks and scratch. It knocked out the rub marks but not the scratch. I have some gorilla glue in the cabinet, so I’ll give that a shot on the crack. Thanks!

Make sure you use this type of gorilla glue or similiar :http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/874070/Gorilla-Super-Glue-053-Oz-Bottle/?cm_mmc=PLA-_-Google-_-Tape_Adhesives-_-874070-VQ6-42102187796-VQ16c-VQ17-pla-VQ18-online-VQ19-874070-VQ20-66613472985-VQ21-
The stuff in the bigger bottles made for wood and other stuff will make a big mess and will leave a residue in the crack.
