Hey guys need some help recently bought 2 torque wrenches from Harbor Freight i know there not the best but its what i can afford. I was told that when i put them away to put them away at lowest setting does that mean if my 3/8 ranges from 5-80ft pounds to leave it at 5 and 0 on the turn handle or my 1/2 lowest is 20 ? thanks

Always set them to zero. I had those same torque wrenches and I know all of them were able to be put to zero.
The HF torque wrenches are not that bad, I bought a luggage scale to check the calibration of my wrench over the range and found it to be very consistent and spot on.
Dont botton them right out ither though, Likes of the snapon/cdi torque wrenchs you just meant to back them off the scale but not fully bottomed out
