Wouldn’t have been oil there, it would have been condensation dripping out.. Exhausts do accumulate some water in them.
If it were oil, it would be far more than a fuel pump.
You tightened up an exhaust leak. Keep the pics coming 😉

Agree on the temporary fix.. Mechanic in a can stuff only works in the short term, and usually is misapplicated leading to more damage..

Got the idler pulley and belt in today.. Pump should be here tomorrow.
Need to replace the tensioner pulley as well. Both have/had a ridge in the center, and the belt was split in two. I figure a week or two on the tensioner with the ridge won’t hurt much, and the new belt ensures I won’t be stranded.Eric would have “loved” this one; reaching through the fan with the bar, having to relocate the battery.. That was the tensioner. If this had the group 24F I believe it should have, the battery would have to have been out of the truck entirely.
And, I’ll get to do it again for the pump, but at least the belt(s!) won’t snap before..

One note on gaskets; if it comes to it use Felpro NOT Fram gaskets.
I’ve never had an issue with Felpro, but I have with Fram.
Front intake manifold gasket on big block Ford engines particularly. Fram leaked, Felpro didn’t..One note on gaskets; if it comes to it use Felpro NOT Fram gaskets.

My read was a secondary filter in the return line. Not sure as to the need, but as long as the correct filter is in the transmission, it wouldn’t hurt anything..
