You could go with an Isuzu P’UP Turbo Diesel 2.2L, those things are very reliable, and they get around 30-45 mpg on just straight diesel, and they also offered them in 4WD, so you would have a mini pickup with a very efficient diesel engine. I know they are really hard to find though because of their fuel economy.

The machine shop gave me the block and said I would need to install the freeze plugs myself. And they told me to use sealant. I thought I would ask for more advice.
