I’ve heard some stories about getting a driver license in the US. My wife got one while working there as an au pair and
all she had to do was basically drive around the block. (Washington DC).
Yeah some countries in Europe really enforce tough tests and test drives in order to get a license over here. I really feel like it’s
a great way of learning about cars and driving them. Having driven a few hundred kilometers in central Europe during vacation times
really helps. Eventually cars will break down and having a basic understanding of how cars work will really aid in the inevitable repair.

Which is why I still watch Eric’s videos! 🙂

I do agree with you there redfury. The basics will get any new car owner a long way! There’s loads of snow here in the winter so
the train will definitely not get me anywhere! It’s awesome to hear that you’re teaching your kids about cars, it’ll help them in the
long run! A check engine light should spark ideas about what could be done rather than just dumping it in shop, an interest in cars
        is awesome!

Here in Sweden it’s required that you know how to check your fluids / tire pressure and understand the purpose of the major of the parts hood
in order to get your drivers license. We’re even required to drive at high speeds on icy roads to pass. (Loosing traction is pretty scary)

I’m sure I’ll be around for a long time!
