could be im not exactly sure what courses that to happen though haha i just know that it does it, it could be a special synchro ring on 5th gear =o or the fact that reverse isnt sycrhonised at all or the shift fork on the selectors

I think they should of said something to there service manager and rang you and spent that extra 5 mins going to get the part and fitting it instead of coursing themselves a headache

Dont know alot about insides of a manual but it may… be a synchro ring or theres a gate kinda thing in them eg: that prevents you from going straight from 5th to reverse its just physically not possible even when the car isnt running but as soon as you put it back into neutral you can go to reverse no problem sounds a bit like that

It could be the vent back to the charcoal canister or the return line from the injectors but id say its just a vent

On newer cars these days not sure about a ’99 model but never know

The cruise control uses the ABS system aswell to help control vehicle speed at the wheels and if something malfunctions or breaks in that system may cause cruise control to stop working

                    Dont know just a thought

But i suppose that if your car doesnt have ABS this comment is invalid

Yea could have something to do with the brake booster which is the big black round thing that the brake master cylinder is attached to

But is the pedal hard when it is running or if the cars off if its when the car is off that’s normal
and also does the brake pedal kinda sink when you have your foot on it and start the car that could give you an idea if its working or not at all

                                great video eric

i have done this once myself only with the clamp style compressor and i plan to fix up a cylinder head i have soonish and i had my doubts that a clamp style would work on the springs seeing they are recessed in the cylinder head so thank you for bring that second kind of tool to my attention
