[quote=”college man” post=177538]The car may have been loaded with fuel already. If you leave it blocked does it start right

I actually blocked off the hose this morning. Drove around few times which the car started first time every time. When I was leaving work at the end of the day, car was sitting for about 4 hours and that is when the problem occurred again. The hose feeding the purge valve has no way of flowing through the valve as it is removed and plugged. Maybe I should keep testing it tomorrow? Is there a way I can test the fuel pump with voltmeter for resistance, would it help determine if the pump is faulty?

        Hi collegeman,

What I tried was to remove the hose going into the valve and block the flow. I just tried to start the car after about 4 hours of sitting there. It struggled to start for a while. I held the gas pedal down while cranking and it started after 2 tries but heard a loud pop as the car started.

Do you think I should put the old fuel pump in?
