Well thank you very much *CollegeMan* I couldn’t have done it with out You & More350Power.
Ya know,I’ve been meaning to get back over here & post a letter of gratitude to both you & this forum for providing a place where guys like me can come & ask for help.
A place with friendly knowledgable users willing to share their knowledge freely.
Not to omit things like links to PDF libraries, which can sometimes take days to track down(I know cause I’ve been there).

Anyway, I wanted to address the last step you & I arrived at(testing of the CKPS).
I realize it was the logical next step & I feel bad for deviating from our planned avenue of aproach. I meant no disrespect & I apologize to You for deviating from it. However I truely felt the blackened terminals told the story & that investigating them should not to be postponed.
Anyway I thank you for your time, insight & professionalism,You were more than helpfull You were curtious & this forum is lucky fo have You. GoodDay CollegeMan & Good Luck with all You choose to do.

Hers a link to my Youtube Playlist which documents steps made while trying to determine why 92 Sentra would not start.

This post’s long but all of its necessary to explain & possibly help the next Sentra No Start.
Excuse me for taking so long to return & close this thread. But after being without my car for 9 days I had a lot of unfinished business to tend to. In my first post I said I’d taken a Tranny-Funnel & poured a lil gas into the intake. Which resulted in my car starting & running until that gas was gone. Now I may be wrong in my logic but that told me the ignition(Wires,Spark,Timing,Crank & Cam Sensors)were all fine & that my car was starving for fuel. In fact I even ventured so far as to beleive my Compression,Cat & ECU were ok too & that it was my fuel pump that wasn’t pumping. But like I said once before,”this was just my uneducated opinion”.

But the one thing that kept slapping me in the face was the “Blackened Ground Terminals” that I saw at every connection in my Fuel Pumps circut.

No I didn’t know “WHY” the connections were blackened. But I knew it indicated something wasn’t rite & I thought it was most likely something on that particular circut). Although personally, I thought it was a short(like a hot wire touching the Body)or the(Fuel Pumps Pos & Neg wires touching each other due to bare wires & water in my loom). But I was wrong & I believe it was at this point I asked YouTube User “More350Power” http://www.youtube.com/user/More350Power to take a look at this thread & tell me If he thought we were heading in the rite direction by inspecting the CKSPS(which is located inside my distributor & supposed to be non-servicable).

Prior to that day,I had never heard of nor talked to More350Power & I told him nothing other than my asking him to gloss over this thread & give me a second opinion. Yet in 5 mins he wrote me back(via YouTube)& told me what he thought. It was at that point I realized he’d arrived at the same conclusion I had. “The Blackened Ground Terminals were the direction to look in”.

“More350Power”explained how the weakest link of any circut is its connection terminals. He also explained that my ground terminals were blackened because they were being made to work harder than they were designed to work. And it was all due to my Fuel Pumps loose skimpy ground, which caused its inability to establish the quality of ground my Fuel Pump required to operate efficiently & safely. So my Fuel Pumps Ground conections got hot(all the way back). Hence the blackening of all ground terminals/connections,on a Fuel Pumps ground circut that was already inferior by design. I guess like anything thats overworked it gets hot ! Only problem is,because this devices has Power Terminals that are embeded in the Plastic Gas Tank Lid,it melts a hole in that lid when it gets hot. Which equates to one not passing Californias Smog(EVAP TEST).

So anyway “More350Power” had me take one of those long car stereo wires(red licorice whip) & clamp it to my -Neg Battery Post with Vise Grips & tie the other end into my Fuel Pumps Ground wire & of course my Fuel Pump started pumping as soon as I turned the key on. Which means I had to find a faulty factory ground. So I looked to the PDF *CollegeMan* provided http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Sentra/1993_Sentra/ & I found a section that lists all Factory Ground Locations for my Sentra. The PDF named my Fuel Pump Ground as “Ground-G” & listed it’s location as “Behind drivers side rear quarter window”. It showed no picture, but eventually I removed the “Window Panel” from my drivers side rear quarter window & I found it.

I ended up back-tracing my “Fuel Pumps Circut” completely. I found no problems within the loom, but I found that my Dome-light/Door-Pin & Fuel Pump all share the same ground circut & I can tell ya rite now,my Dome-light hasn’t worked for well over 5 yrs & my Fuel Pump has displayed intermittent loss of power or continuity throughout that same time frame. Well I eventually found “Ground-G” & I got out a 10mm open-end box-end wrench to tighten it,but when I laid my hand on the wrench it just swung downward with hardly any effort at all. “Ground-G” was indeed the culprit. Because after I tightened-up the skimpy lil ground-bolt my car started rite up & has been running fine ever since. In fact it actually seems to be running better now.

              PS:
Since I first saw this issue aprox 5yrs ago,I’ve inspected atleast ten 91-93 Sentras(9 of them were Non-Participents in the Nissan Fuel Pump Recall) & I can tell you with 100% certainty that visable signs of heat had manifested at all of thee aforementioned connections throughout the Fuel Delivery Systems of all 9 of those Sentras & I’m not talking about engine heat either!

From the Red Power-Block located at the Positive battery Terminal: Which houses two (24/7)Hot wires. The first of which goes to the ECU & the 2nd going to the Injector Rail(both awaiting a ground signal).

To the Power Connector at the underside of the Gas Tank Lid(inside the gas tank).

Each & every connection I looked at showed signs of heat-stress. Except the one Sentra that participated in the “Nissan Recall” . This is a pik of a Sentra at Pick & Pull this month with the same problem only on this white Sentra the entire ground terminal has been completly burnt away to nothing(desinigrated) look at the size of the hole melted into the gas tank lid.

So how do you know if your Sentra was fixed by the Recall ?
A quick way to check is to remove your backseat(Bottom) & look to the center of the floorboard for a Black protective plate held in place by 4 philips head screws.
Any 91-93 Sentra that’s participated in the “U.S./Nissan Recall” will have an official looking “Metalic Silver Sticker” that says something to thee effect of:

“This car’s participated in the 199X Nissan Recall Program U.S.A. Blakety-Blank-Blank,or something or other”.

I just returned from scavenging parts at Pick & Pull. I went to get a “Gas Tank Lid” because mine developed a hole in it,caused by the Neg terminal getting too hot & melting its plastic housing. In California a car wont pass Smog(EVAP) if the gas tank leaks air pressure & truth is mine never would have passed with a hole like that(so I had to have a new one)

While there I couldn’t help but notice that almost all the Nissan Sentras(of the same make as mine)showed the exact same symptom on its fuel pumps ground terminal(located inside the fuel tank). In fact one of the fuel tank lids had its ground terminal completly melted away. I mean it had melted a hole in the plastic lid on the ground side the size of a corn kernel & the entire ground terminal was hollow & its ground connectors had melted away to nothing & were completly desinegrated.

I eventually found a useable gas tank lid & Fuel Pump connectors(wire leads from fuel pump to underside of gas tank lid). So this kinda looks like a common issue with the B13 Sentras & I wanted to bring it to lite in case someone else sees the same issue.

Anyway much progress was made last nite thanks to a YouTube user by the name of More350Power & I’ll be writing up the test he suggested I perform & its outcome a lil later. Bottom line is Dude is very well versed in auto electronics & “The problem is not in the CPS” but rather the Ground for the Fuel Pump.

He told me that from what I had posted in this thread he thought my issue was with the ground & that I should run a temp ground from the battery over to the fuel pump & see if the fuel pump would start pumping when I turned on the key. So I did the test & finally My fuel pump started purring like a kitty.

I’ll write the over all outcome a lil later after I see where it all takes me.
Thanks to all involved especially College man & of course More350Power.

Thank you for jumping in & adding your experience.
The points you bring are indeed valid, however I have to say that my Sentras CEL comes on when I turn the key (just as it should). I would add that I got it to run by pouring gas directly into the injector arrea(I call it the intake).

I took a tranny fluid funnel opened the butterfly & poked it into the intake then I poured just a lil gas into it. Then I started it & it ran perfectly for like 2 or 3 seconds till it ran out of gas retested it that way & it did exactly the same thing.
Thanks again & please don’t hesitate to offer any other input.

I’ve been reading the manual, studying the procedure involved & checking for the location of the CPS. I Should know something by tommorow, but IMHO we’re barking up the wrong tree.

I say that because in my very first post I said
“I had poured a tiny bit of gas into the intake & Varrooom it started rite up” & that tells me that the CPS is fine.

Besides I’m pretty sure I’d have seen some symptoms of gradual degradation.
I Thank You for your effort & direction.

Tell me if this is the section you’re refering to ?

Ok I just got back, but while I was gone I thought of something I’ve been meaning to ask you.
Someone told me that some cars have the Oil Sending Unit(OSU) included into the Fuel Pump Circut. The reason being,is so if the car runs too low on oil then the “OSU” shuts off the 12v current to the Fuel Pump.
So in short what I wanted to ask of you,was if you knew if my Sentra has that type of circut?
Ok,I’m on to the T-Shooting manual NOW!
