I overcharged mine a few weeks ago.I was not aware that the whole system holds only 20 ounces of freon.With the help of heating  and air conditioning contractor, we just expelled the can of coolant from the trigger,hooked up the tube to the A/C system connector, and pressed the trigger, releasing the additional coolant, until a legitimate PSI was kept up.
