There is an inner tie rod tool that looks like an exhaust clamp and is not that much money. It does work and I have one,$20.00 for it anywhere.I have used it about 3 times so far and has removed the inner tie rod end with no problems at all
Looks like Craftsman is going to get better,Stanley Black and Decker did buy the Craftsman tool line from Sears. One plan is to send the Chinese made tools back here for production again,Stanley is building tool plants already for the Craftsman tool line and putting our people back to work.
Take out the front oxygen sensor and screw in a back pressure gauge. It maybe a plugged up catalytic converter
Toolboxes, look on Craig’s List for used toolboxes and trade ins tool truck dealers have. With an used Snap On toolbox used, ask this question to the seller: Is there any money owed on it still? If they say yes,run and there is a reason why.Snap On can still repo it if there is money still owed on it and you don’t get your money back.Have a Snap On dealer run the serial number as well to see if money is still owed on it.
If you want cordless tools, look at the Milwaukee fuel line which has a 5 year warranty on the tool and 3 year warranty on the batteries. You do want to stay away from the Snap On cordless tool line,JUNK.You don’t have to buy the tool truck brand impact sockets,Grey Pnuematic and Sunex are two great choices for the impact socket sets. They do have a lifetime warranty at least half the price of the tool truck brands.
The 3.3 and 3.8 engines, you can’t kill them. The starter, don’t replace the whole thing. The contacts wear out and you can get a plunger kit to fix them, real simple to do.It is a Nipedenso starter which is used in Hondas,Toyotas and Chrysler products
Do a compression check on that cylinder,it maybe piston or valve related called a dead cylinder. If you know anyone that has a good used coil, try this too and maybe a bad coil as well. The good used coil is a test piece basically before you buy a new one
Rusted out upper strut towers.Dorman makes kit that puts a cap on top, weld it in instead of using the rivets. The solenoid pack on the 4 speed autos tend to leak. The spider gear pin loves to come out and does major damage in the 4 speed automatics. To prevent this from happening if out of the vehicle with the cover off, weld the ends of the spider gear pin to the differential assembly. It does fix this problem too.
Sometimes the rep is there certain days.Check for this as well.Matco has a student tool discount program too.
If you look on the front of the torque converter,up to 1996 have a counterweight on the torque converter for the 360.Biggest thing with a Chrysler automatic like this one,use the ATF+4 fluid only
318 or 360,the torque converters are different up to 1996 I believe. The 360 torque converter has a counterweight on the torque converter. There is one thing to check too,the bottom transmission line connecting into the radatior. There is a nylon checkball inside there you remove.Problem with that nylon checkball is it melts and plugs the line up.Basically drill it out and pop it out with a long #2 phillips screwdriver.
I agree with that inner tie rod tool, purchased one and it was $20.00 from a Parts Plus auto parts store.Well worth the money and used it once so far.
These from the bottom engine swaps GM loves to do.I cringe when I have to do these and it’s a waste of time to do it this way.The steering coupler and the PITA so called quick release water fittings are the worst part.Anything with the Blue oval on it as well aka Ford, they love doing everything the hard way. They will not do anything simple at all.
Car alarms don’t work, most people ignore them and I seen this on a TV show.A gun is choice if caught in the act.A customer of my dad’s is this way,has guns all around his house and thieves won’t come out alive shot dead.
Armstrong is pinless too.SK is going pinless and they are in the testing process right now.Talked to one of their engineers at an Auto Value tech show, going back to the drawing board.Steelman has them too, their set up is basically a long extension bar with a built impact swivel in them.I have the biggest Metric set which does have a lifetime warranty,I like them and the set was not cheap.
