I spent a lot of time to fix this kind of problem. Provided that no DTCs found (no fault codes).
Finally, MAF sensor replaced with new one, and problem (almost) gone.
There is still some slight hesitation of RPM , but not noticeable.
In my case it was Hot Film MAF. I guess it was very sensible part…
If you get a scanner, check the Short and Long Term Fuel Trim, in my case the computer was always decreasing fuel supply (which means I did not have vacuum leaks and air was OK)

I don’t know much about All Wheel Drive but your question is interesting.
Did you need to remove ABS or Speed sensor on front axle ? Are all readings from instrument cluster OK? Speed, RPM etc….

          Guys,Many thanks for your suggestions.
Sorry for not being clear when I mentioned Thermostat. I meant Thermoswitch, or an additional Thermostat with some eclectical actuator of Cooling Fan.
It seems to be more expensive and complicated, so it is more simple to go with a Thermoprobe installed at Radiator.
          So, no major modifications .

Hope that Thermo Probe is measuring temperature correctly.
I thought it should be some modification on coolant hoses in order to install a Thermostat.
            Thanks!

              Thanks a lot !
I definitely choose the one with thermostat, now figuring out where to be connected the thermostat itself…

There are lots of videos on how to clean MAF sensors.
I did my BOSCH Hot Film MAF sensor cleaning, and, of course, I damaged it. Although it was looking in a good shape after disassembly.
It failed, and I bought a new one.
So, I don’t recommend cleaning, if you are thinking to do so.
