I would have to guess that it might be damaged internally if that is possible as the outside of the sockets look great. No corrosion or damages.

Correct me if I am wrong but I do believe that the seal(s) have failed letting oil leak out from the center part of the turbo where the shaft gets fed with oil.

This is a wiring diagram that I found but it doesn’t tell me where a ground is…

Do you know where the ground would be located?

Yes we are talking about the reverse lights and I took apart the dash to better get behind the fuse panel to check the wires. I’m assuming the switch works because the volts are 0 when not in reverse and 11.6 when in reverse. The voltage drops as soon as the bulb is plugged into the socket and the bulb does not come on. Could I just splice into the ground wire on the connector for the reverse lights and find my own ground on the chassis? I have already removed all the wiring from the trunk and all the way up to the fuse panel and found nothing.

Well it has been awhile since I have been on here but here is an update. I have 12volts at the switch, fuse, and socket(only when bulb is out). When I put the bulb back in I get .16 volts. When I keep the bulb in and plug the socket assembly into the brake light connector and press the brake the bulb lights up. When I plug the connector for the reverse light into the brake light socket and put the car in reverse the bulb doesn’t light up and the voltage drops. I don’t know what to do or look for or if it still could be the switch…I bought some bulbs which wasn’t much, but I don’t want to keep buying and replacing parts if they are all still in good working order. I was so frustrated that I thought it might be something loose behind the fuse panel so I had to take my whole dash off to get behind the panel to just find nothing…that was a wasted three hours lol! If there is a way to easily fix this problem without having to take apart the dash again I would love that, lol! Thanks for everyone’s help by the way!

I just checked and the voltage was going to the fuse then I checked the connector for the switch and that was getting voltage so I am certain that it is the switch needing replaced, however I don’t have a clue on how to go about replacing the switch. I know I have to unscrew it with a wrench just don’t know what parts I have to remove to get to it. I have an aftermarket intake on my car so it frees up some space to get to it. If anyone has replaced this and has a step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much! I was looking forever online for a reliable wiring diagram that I didn’t have to pay for. That one helped a lot more than the Haynes manual! Will be going and testing it in a little bit and will keep you all posted!
