I really like the site, but I’m disappointed that OBD codes are only available to Honda and GM. I’m receiving a code 12 on my 1994 Coralla, and I did receive a brief reply, but not nearly enough to tell me where to start looking for the problem. Toyota said that code 12 just gives them an idea where to begin looking, and that they might end up replacing many parts–at my expense–before locating and repairing what is causing the code 12. I can’t even afford to do that, myself, let alone allowing Toyota to bankrupt me. Surely there must be a better way.

I think it’s fantastic! :woohoo: It appears to be operating a little slowly, but it’s still a vast improvement from it’s former self.

There is one good reason to replace struts that aren’t leaking: alignment. The rear springs on my ’94 Toyota Corolla have weakened to the point where it’s no longer possible to achieve proper camber. Best I can achieve is a -1 on both sides, and tires don’t like that. In this instance, you can replace the springs in you like, or replace the entire strut assembly, expensive but my preferred option. It’s easier and safer than just replacing the springs, too.

I’m planning to attend, Eric. My knowledge of auto mechanics is admittedly limited, but I find working on my car and truck enjoyable and cost effective. Having grown up in Hamilton, and being a frequent visitor to LeSourdsville Lake, Old Coney, and Kings Island, I’m not expecting any difficulty in finding you, especially since 129 now extends all the way to I-75. I’m sure it will be a fun and informative event. You won’t have any trouble in spotting me. At the age of 59, I suspect that I’ll be the oldest dude there. 🙂
