Thanks a lot for your advice! (everyone). Ill get someone to remove the head and look at the walls but I think I am just going to do the 2zz swap. Its going to suck because I need a car now but ill figure it out. I wish etcg was on the east coast! Thanks!
Hey thanks for the reply! Got a quote from the website so thanks for that. The car has 142k so same with the engine. It does however have a brand new transmission and clutch installed by Toyota. The engine is a 1zz 1.8L 4CYL. I assume what happened since the guy is an idiot after the accident he still drove it and with the radiator being caved in and no coolant the head went. Ive already picked up the bumper and radiator etc. Why would you recommend replacing the whole engine and not just the head? Just curious because money is an issue ( still in high school). If I were to do a whole engine swap I might as well go with the celica gts engine. Its pretty much a direct swap and you get a lot more power out of it but I just want was quickest and cheapest.
Im not sure if it helps or not but I forgot to mention this car has a timing chain instead of a belt and it is one of the few cars out there with a non interference engine.
