At least if you find the cut wiring you can replace the pigtail.
From the picture you can see the wire coloring that you need to find in the harness.
If they have been cut off you will need to getting a wiring diagram so you can figure out what wire goes where. It will also tell you what color combo you need to look for. Something sounds off…

If you bought this car in this conditon the previous owner may have cut them to remove them. Why? I would have no Idea. Look for cut wires in the wiring harness. If they tried to do this to cover up another issue the cut wires maybe under some black tape or hidden in the loom.

Have you always had this problem or is it recent? Have you done any work to this car recently? If so I would retrace my steps and see if something was missed.
Do you see any broken or shredded wires around the wiring harness?

I agree Harbor Freight ones are great. Have had one for 2 years never had a problem. Best jack for the money I think. When they go on sale for 70$ ish dollars go get one and take a 20% off coupon. You can find them by googleing harbor freight coupon or you can get a code right now by texting tools to 222-377.

Yes you can tighten the locking nut on the strut while it is mounted on the car. Make sure the mount is tight as well. About the self priming I havent the slightest idea. I will defer to someone with more experience.
The noise maybe where the spring didnt get seated into the mount exactly right.Yes you can tighten the locking nut on the strut while it is mounted on the car. Make sure the mount is tight as well. About the self priming I havent the slightest idea. I will defer to someone with more experience.

Go get a cheap inspection Camera and check in the cylinder. Harbor freight carries them very cheap so does ebay. IMO the engine is toast. I bet when the belt slipped it jumped out of time and the clunk that was heard is valve striking the piston head. Then you have to decide if you want to put 2800$+ into the car for the reman engine.+1 ETCG
