my problem is not the switch, that all works fine its when i get a friend to turn the engine over i lay underneath and watch the starter, it wiggles lots while the engine is crank , im now on starter number 6, and this one will burn too cause its still not right, this time i used a different brand starter, this starter is an original rebuilt one from gm, i just bought this truck from a family member and he had no problems with it, when i replaced the first starter it did not have any shims on it, im gonna try to install a shim and see if that works, maybe there is a fly wheel problem, but i inspected that already, i have been fixing cars for 14 years now and run my own business, ive never seen anything like this before,i guess thats why they say you always learning something new everyday in this kind of trade…thanks for the help…i appreciate it..and this is a great website

when i come to messing with the plastic heater hose connection at the heater core i just bust them off and attach the hoses back up with hose clamps cause the plastic connection will eventually brake …just some advice ive seen it that too many times easier to fix now instead of fixing after it breaks on the side of the road…

Im trying a different brand starter 2morrow i got a friend to start the truck while i watched the starter and it wiggles quit a bit while the engine is cranked i noticed that the starter bolt holes have a little play in them they are not snug like they should be through the starter bolt holes even when i tighten them up pretty good the starter still wiggles while the engine is cranked and it ended up braking one bolt and bent the other one lucky for me i got the broken bolt out with no trouble…i went to gm and got the proper starter bolts and there is still play through the starter bolt holes..maybe it is a bosch manufacture problem

with the vehicle running disconnect the positive cable at the battery if the car turns off then the alternator is no good if it stays running while the cable is diconneted the alternator is good
