Hi Guys. My name is Tim. I have been a tech for 35yrs in north central Texas. I’ve seen a lot of changes in the field over the yrs. I am ASE cert. I am not impressed by this. My experience is about 90% of customers don’t know what it is. I have also seen lots of ASE techs that just don’t have a clue. I been in this a long time so there are things I choose not to work on anymore. I have seen a lot of ETCG vids and even though I dont agree with every thing he says they are good. Mostly the flat rate stuff. Im not spending all day on elec problem and not be paid for it. Most elec probs can be found in a couple hrs. If it takes longer they have to pay. If they dont want to pay take it to someone else. I’m not tryin to sound like an ass but I deserve to be paid for my time. I worked for Mr. 500 for a few yrs in the early 80s and I learned alot from him. “Sometimes its not enough to fix the car. You gotta fix the customer too”. Words of wisdom from Mr. 500. Some of you old guys should know who this is… Bye for now.
