I just found (and picked up) the MicSig TO1104 tablet style, 4 channel, 100MHz scope. I just ordered it today, but at $480 it looks like it has the right features to be an outstanding automotive scope. The reviews I have seen listed downsides as things like the fan is too loud, and one or two others that really don’t matter to folks like us.

I grabbed a full range of amp clamp probes as well, and since my idle air controller seems to not be doing what it’s supposed to, I’ll get to use this quickly. I’ll post some further into once I have the unit in my hands. But Amazon has these, and they look like fantastic bang for the buck. Especially with 28Mpts of sample data, and the speed to pick up glitches in the microsecond range.
