Sorry about the transmission. Go find a 2003 to 2006 honda element or CRV very reliable vehcles.
My Sister in Law had one 1998 Chrysler and it was the CHRYSLER all in one stupid Fuse Box and Power Center
I am happy that you are feeling better. yes corroded fasteners are hard to deal with I understand.
Hello DaHa3350 :cheer:
Did you do anything ?
Just wondered.
It hasn’t done this for several months. I suspect it was because the vehicle sat before I bought it.
Due to many other things I replaced all the brake calipers because of issues. and repainted lower control arms as they were rusted but the body seems to be in good shape.
Also had to replace the blower fan due to the amount of debris in the cabin air filter.
Attachments:Hello
Thank you for all your help. I did resolve the situation.
It was a power steering leak onto the belt. It destroyed the belt and I replaced a line and the belt and everything is ok.
Hello Eric
My Dad’s 1996 Honda Accord 4cyl was recently welded on. The Alternator seized and I replaced it with a reman from (reputable auto parts store) and it started smoking. Checked the battery voltage while it was running 14.4 volts. is this a problem with the new alternator or the ECM as it might have been damaged? Have you seen this before?

I forgot to tell you mine is a 1999 Honda civic…it was doing the same thing. When I put 3 quarts of DW-1 and then went about 500 miles and changed it again the problem went away. Honda’s need Honda fluids. Especially power steering fluid and transmission / differential fluid.
It was changed with incorrect fluid change the fluid and ONLY use Honda DW-1 fluid. I had the same issue and used this fluid and it shifts like brand new.
Thank You I discovered the car was welded on I do not know if the battery was disconnected. It could mean either the battery itself is destroyed or the ECM is causing this.
it was fine no issues turning the pulley and it made no noise.
Hello Eric
Come to Cleveland sometime….

Hello Eric
I recently had my Honda Element aligned and it was still 2% off on the right side. Do you think its the control arm or strut causing this..

Moisture issues when it rained the car ran poorly cleaned cap made sure it was secure but moisture problems causing missing. Bought one cap and was fine no problems
