brake hose 26 ft lbsI think your spark timing is probably off. Sure way to make sure you are in fact at tdc on cylinder 1 is to pull the plug and put your finger ( or compression gauge) over the hole. with a wrench turn the engine. when you feel air pushing your finger (or affecting the gauge)you know you are on the compression stroke. bring to tdc and adjust timing. Just cause you have compression and spark doesn’t mean that they are timed right. Are you sure head gasket was your only problem? Cause I have never had a head gasket so bad that the engine wouldn’t start at all.

Hate to tell you this, but you are probably going to save yourself a lot of time and money having a mechanic do a code scan on it. If you have a Pep Boy’s near you I think they will do a scan for free. And you can get the parts while you’re there. (and no I don’t work for Pep Boy’s lol.)

If you don’t want to buy the manual, you could see if your local library has one (you would be surprised.) If you know a friendly mechanic he should be able to tell you. Also sometimes parts stores like Napa have things like that in their system.

Yeah, the first thing I did was change the oil and filter, air filters, plugs, wires, distributor, rotor, I also changed the ignition solenoid. Thanks though, I’ll post my results after changing the air idle control and checking throttle position sensor.
