Just a quick follow-up:
No, I didn’t bought the car. A friend of a friend was offering me the car.
Altough it was in excellent mechanical condition, it was used for some racing, which turned me off, because that would indicate some abuse to the engine (which by te way, was new) and I just spend a lot of money into repairing my elantra.
you’ll never forgive me for not giving you the mileage: was ~95,000.
I didn’t bother to ask anything about the transmission, but I’ll asume he has done a good job keeping it functional at the very least.
The paint? well, he instated that it was due to some corrosion after he left it unattended for 2 years. I can’t tell if it was in a crash. It’s funny that Jinzo shows a Morgan car….
My last name is Morgan and I also design cars… not so british looking though…..
I use the very same suspension setup in my models.
(Yes, I know this post is almost off-topic)
Still, the Morgan cars are Awesome looking…. not because of my last name, but because they’re truly exotic. It’s not so often that you see a classic-looking vehicle with 3 wheels powered by a v2 engine. Also, their cars combine the classic look and feel with modern stuff, like the Morgan Aero SuperSport. Gotta love that car!… I guess I can say that you should (of course) do the testing above, but also, it appears that Hyundai’s most common failure has to do with Fuel delivery systems, it being the Charcoal Canister, fuel injectors, fuel pump… yeah, even the Idle control. By the fact that you just got new spark plugs, we can include as suspects. when doing your testing, make sure that they’re adecuate for your engine.

I have a question… In fact, I just posted a new topic about it, but in the case of the 97 2.2 CL… will some, if not all, of these issues apply to that vintage? I see you specified 1999-2003, but 97 is pretty close, and I’m worried about it.

Forgot to say… YES, I’ve seen the post Eric Made of the 1999-2003 CL vintage. This is a 97, so, I guess it’s out the range.

You can take those same $1000 and buy a whole engine pretty much…

Oh, and I’ve seen a post somewhere else suggesting 20w50 for issues with the valve lifters…
BTW is a 2000 elantra GLS 2.0LHow about if is an used engine? Not sure of the mileage of that, but It looked like 25000-50000

BTW is a 2000 elantra GLS 2.0LWhen you do some diagnosis you sometimes need to think from the suspective part perspective, and though of how this part might be affecting the vehiche as a whole. You don’t know if for some reason the turnlights’ fuse controls some servos at the transmission You need to be mind of these things.
