There would be a slight rattle from the engine at startup but should disappear immediately.

Is the engine misfiring ?If there’s 2 wires the same colour I nearly sure that’s them.

do you have check engine light code?July 22, 2012 at 11:00 am in reply to: Fuel Filter R&R to cure bogging, stuttering and sputtering condition #461559If its a European car we use 95 unleaded so I’d check that. _x000D_
I am a bit unsure of when you changed the plugs…. Doesn’t that model have 2 Plugs per clyinder?_x000D_
Also did you change the plugs and then 3000kms later it sputtered. _x000D_
If not I’d check the gapNew tyres and an alignment and ask for a printout of the alignment. _x000D_
Ask can they give you a printout before they do it. _x000D_
Saves alot of hassle.[quote]Quoted From johnd: _x000D_

Toluene works a lot better for raising octane and won’r damage fuel system parts. Is your egr electrically operated or vacuum?_x000D_
If its vacuum check the rubber pipe from cracks etc. _x000D_
Get your hands on another egr valve and see if it helps.i dont think it would unless the leads were real bad and oil got between the plug tip and plug lead._x000D_
have a look and see tho.clean it all up and try it._x000D_
_x000D_Have you cleaned out the egr and passages.

This was used back in the 60’s as a racing fuel additive and is unsafe for your engine, you should avoid it as it is just another snake-oil treatment with a false hope of better MPG._x000D_

when they used it in tthere will be marks on the pulleys and they will have to line up with marks on the engine._x000D_
they are usually at 12 o c._x000D_
the crankshaft pulley will be similar….mark on the pulley, mark on the engine casting/plastic cover etc. -
