Came to the conclusion that I have cut off wires on the rider side. The headlight switch is fine. And also the connection to it from the harness.

I need some help finding out how to rewire the cut-off wires though. I sent pics of the wire problem. The plug shown goes to the riders side headlight. The three cut-off wires go to the horn and to the main headlight harness to the drivers side.

My question is why do I have three wires (black. green, brown)on the cut-off wires and only two on the (green/brown) plug. Please see pics.

Can someone help me out of how these are to connect or what’s going on here?

Would it be best to replace the switch with a (WELLS) part listed below?
I have heard replacement switches go bad as well.

Well the clutch plate of the A/C kit is not the same as far as the spring deflection goes.
The one off my truck which is a Delphi clutch plate has spring deflection. The aftermarket has zero spring deflection. That worries me, shouldn’t the clutch plate have spring deflection for when it engages? Isn’t that the whole reason behind the clutch plate.

The other concern is that the hub is a different length as shown in the attached screen shot. I don’t want an aftermarket part that doesn’t say Delphi compatible assembled on a Delphi compressor.

I don’t agree that we can mix and match components of different A/C compressor manufactures that all went on a 1998 Chevy Silverado K1500 truck. Like I said before I checked all parts stores–NAPA, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto and O’reilly. They all say one thing remanufactured for HT6 and perfect fit for a 1998 Chevy Silverado K1500 truck. I hope someone can shed some light on this subject.

If anything comes of this maybe we will all learn something. If anyone knows where to get a Delphi A/C clutch please let me know, for know I cleaned up the galling and clutch parts of the original and put it back on the truck for now.

It’s a 2001 Honda Civic EX, 1.7 VTEC, 170,000 miles (just rebuilt the engine and put 4,000 miles on that so far.

I checked with NAPA and they said there is no need for the vibration absorber after they rebuild it. It was originally for vibration and the axel has now been balanced to a higher standard to run without it. And yes water collects and causes problems in winter.

The part is correct that I used from NAPA. I took the attached picture from the internet to show for an example only.

I agree bud. I guess the most that could happen is it leaks and I install a new one.
