I used to have a car with a GM 3.4 DOHC. That engine HATED a bath.
Though it is not as quick – cleaning an engine with rags, mineral spirits, and a brush to scrape really nasty stuff before wiping away does well. Plan on it taking an afternoon. You can also wax the metal parts and armor-all the plastic ones after things are clean.
Mineral spirits removes oil and grease better than soap and water ever could, it is just harder to get to some thing that are visible but buried out of reach.Hitting the engine with high pressure water is asking for problems.

Would he allow you to go out and buy the parts it needs and he installs, charging labor of course.

Coolant sensor seems OK.
Not sure why but after i cleaned and and inspected a few things, it has not done it again, and last night it was 24 degrees and car ran without incident.Only thing I replaced was the PVC but I somehow doubt that thing was bad, the new one rattled the same as old. For $3 though why not just swap.
Well, I appreciate the feedback here, I guess time and weather will tell if this car starts acting up again.

If they are building up corrosion or whatever –
They do need to be kept clean cause that dirt on there is causing resistance that should not be there. That would eventually fry the transformer that looks to be attached directly to the plug wire.As far as what is causing that? Not sure but yeah they need to be kept clean

I tried at home with my local library. It said no results found.
So the question is – when you try to access from home, does it say “no results found” or does it just block access?
Next time I am at the library I am gonna see if this works.I tried at home with my local library. It said no results found.
