Fuel trims? Never heard of such a thing so I am blind in figuring that one out. Thought the O2 sensor had me fixed, as I tested it Friday night with much success allowing it to warm up and pushed it through 3500 RPM without issue. The wife drove it for the first time yesterday morning since then and it started acting up again at 2600-2700 RPM. She was 15 miles away from the house on her way to church when it started doing it so it has to have time to get good and warm before it starts acting up. On her way home she had no problems at all.
Can you get scan readings while the car is driving down the highway or should I just rev it up to more than 2700 RPM sitting in the parking lot for the reading?

You are likely on to something. I neglected to mention it’s also throwing a P0141 code which is indicating an O2 sensor problem. I’ll get that changed and see where we end up. Can’t believe I left that off the original post.

It took a pair of 6″ extended vice grips, some 90 degree extended pliers, some contorting and some elbow grease but I finally got it out and the new one it. Here’s a picture of the one that came apart alongside the new one.
still have the original problem though…cutting out at 2600-2700 RPM. Going to research that and start a new thread if need be.
thanks for everyone’s help!

Attachments:Thanks Eric. Evidently I’m not calling the part by the right name. The image Raistian77 has below is actually what I’m trying to replace. It’s only held in with one screw from all the documentation I’ve seen and from the replacement part I’ve already purchased. I just can’t get in under the head with pliers or anything to pull the piece out.

It came out without issue, but the electronic part snapped off and now I can’t get the body out of the unit out.

December 19, 2013 at 12:53 am in reply to: VTC oil control solenoid valve stuck in the head! #563814I’ve tried 90 degree long-reach pliers, small needle-nose pliers, small electrical pliers and no luck. can’t get enough of a grab on it to gain any leverage. Figure I am going to have to move all the hard lines (can’t remember what they are to) in front of it so i can get a direct straight on shot at it. Any recommendations otherwise?
