I’m curious too. My car does not have a inline filter and I plan on putting one on. I also plan on a cooler since it currently runs through the radiator and I don’t like that. Any filter work?

You will have no problems with this setup. My suggestion though would be to let it warm up to normal before driving. Cast iron and aluminum will heat up, thus expand, at a different rate. This can cause problems if the engine is not yet warm and you go rip off a 500 foot burnout….

Pretty sure its normal. My car does this. If its warm, it starts to idle (600 rpm’s), cold it starts in a higher idle (1200 rpm’s) and drops down gradually, when real cold it starts at a very high idle (2000 rpm’s) and gradually goes down as the car warms up.

Just to clarify..the noise didn’t start untill you changed the oil or you change the oil because of the noise. I’m wondering why the dealer would use the wrong grade of oil? Also you mentioned it does this warm, not hot. How about when its cold?

It just makes it easier to get the struts out because its not under any stress. Its not impossible to do it without a jack under the arm.
