Hey Eric 2000 Gm should have dex cool Or death cool as I call it I see green coolant in then video Witch to me is just fine
even better Could not find part 2 but you need to mention jf there was dex cool and you use the old time green stuff
you need to totally flush the orange crap out. YOU CAN NOT mix dex cool and the green stuff as
it will became a major disaster
Me personally I like the old time green antifreeze Dex cool has caused so many problems and today GM still refuse to admit that it is any good My jeep uses a coolant called hoat a little pricey but it does not have the problems that comes with dex cool
pont trying to make is make sure what type of coolant your vehicle takes using the wrong coolant can cause intake gas-kits to leak along with head gaskets and over heating and sludging up your whole coolant system

duration looks good any thing 300 or more is were you get into trouble 14 is a little low but not enough to give it a bad idle I have a question When your 440 is hot and you shut it down and go to restart and it hard did you try to drop the timing a little just to see if that was the problem?? Back in 69 /70s I played around with a lot of 440/ 413/ 383/ 340s and I never had than start hard when they were hot

No It could crank over cold You said it will not idle at anything below 19 It sounds like you just might have an vacuum leak or running a way to high duration cam

none of the engines today are ANY GOOD BUT the best for me is the jeep 4.0 inline six then going back some years chevy 283/327 then chrysler 361/383/440 Ford 288 and 351 The worst out there right now is the V6 3.0 in the ford edge For me a over head cam with a timing belt has NEVER been any good yet today almost all cars have a timing belt This is why todays cars are JUNK They do not want then to last to long

19deg; the base timing Is WAY to much. Built many 440 six packs and ran them at 8 to 12deg base timing
First off when its hard starting try dropping the timing a bit back and see if it will turn over any better and if that does not work you have a bad starter

I have to totally disagree In my 40 years as a tech I have never seen any thing good with flat rate.
All flat rate has done is made the techs dishonest . Today most good tech do not like flat rate and as I said before the dealerships around philly are having a real hard time finding techs They are finding that NO one will work for flat rate any more.
The good jobs are fleet work. I worked on a large fleet and I made more money than any flat rate tech in a stress full dealership. Hell 14 years ago I made 25 an hour and I always got any were form 10 to 18n hours over time a week and I did not have to play the games that the dealerships techs do And the best part was I knew how much money I was making every week . Plus the benefits were WAY better than any dealer ship There was NEVER a slow time in fleet We had a 170 ford vans just in philly alone that averaged 5 to 6,000 miles a month for each van. Just PMs alone kept me busy
Today i am 62 and retired but if I had to do it over again I would only work for a fleet department and NEVER work flat rate
