I am loosing coolant as well and if I raise the RPM’s and load the engine the people behind me disappear in the clouds created by my exhaust.

you mean the water circuit running through the intake to warm up the air ? I checked it several times and I don’t really think it’s leaking. I even disabled it and still white clouds came out of my exhaust

Thanks Eric, I have done leak down and compression Tests and they all came good, only cylinder 5 didn’t have the best leak down on the rings but it was still in range. I also rebuilt a Honda cbr900 fireblade before and turned out good. I don’t have your experience for sure but a used vq35de here in Germany costs 3000+ euros as people mostly drive diesels and Japanese cars aren’t so popular here as well,so I had to rebuild it because my last emissions weren’t really amazing.

hopefully it’s only a valve or two which you could adjust with the tip of a screwdriver.

I would do a leak down test to check for the valves. your engine B18B1 is an interference type and would probably have bent the valves causing the rough idle you’re talking about.

I once had a similar situation and turned out to be my starter was gone. you could test that yourself by checking that both starter bolts receive voltage by cranking as I believe there is a relay unit in the starter which activates the starter motor after the gear is raised and engaged with the flywheel. my starter motor itself was fine and I tested the coil on a coil tester but the relay part was toast and that’s why my starter motor never received voltage.
