Hi Eric,
I have a 2008 ford explorer, I was driving home from work the other night and I went to use the rear windshield washer and I noticed the wiper moving very slow, made it about a quarter way up the window and it just stopped and wouldn’t move anymore, I am able to get it to move when I go back there and assist it, originally I thought wiper motor but given that it tries to move, and will move the rest of the way when I help it makes me not so sure,
thanks for your helpAlright so I’ve been kind of busy lately and haven’t been able to update you and lay this thread to rest so that’s what i’m doing now, I ended up just replacing the brake light switch as it was a 10 dollar part and I wasn’t losing a large amount of money if it wasn’t the problem but two and a half weeks later and the problem has not come back so I think it’s safe to say problem fixed, Thanks for the help guys

Sorry It’s been a while but here’s an update, because it’s an intermittent problem I wasn’t really sure where to go at first but now I might, It did it to me again today when I got home and I opened up the center console, with the car still running I stepped on the brake and heard and saw nothing a little while later when it started shifting again I would step on the brake and I was able to hear a clicking, which leads me back to Eric’s above post that says if that’s the case then to go back to the brake light switch, should I get a new one and try it? Or is there a way to tell before I do that?

Thanks for the replies guys, I did go out and buy pb blaster and I let that soak for a good amount of time, After that didn’t work and since the valve stems themselves aren’t long enough to get two wrenches on it, I slso tried with just one wrench and the whole stem just wants to spin so I’ve decided I don’t want to break anything myself so I went back to the garage that pointed out the problem and I’m going to have them do it Tuesday morning. I’ll keep you guys posted on what happens

srry for taking so long to get back its a 2004 chevy blazer 4.3lSometimes when you take the old filter off, the seal that seals the filter to the truck doesn’t come off with the filter, if that’s the case when you put the new filter on the old seal was still in there and you double sealed it and that can easily cause oil leaks…If not its quite possible that the filter wasn’t tightened down enough but i don’t think that would be the case as they really don’t need to be tight to begin with. Take a look at your old filter and see if it still has a seal on it.
Alright guys I kind of just answered my own question here…Yesterday I didn’t notice that the interior dome lights weren’t working either so I went to the fuse box and sure enough the dome light fuse was no good and when I replaced that, the four wheel drive also came back…..This is a classic case of don’t rule out the small stuff..but hey, now if something goes wrong with it and it’s not a fuse, I can come back to this thread and hopefully fix it 😀 Thanks guys

If you’ve been running your AC lately you might want to check this video out.

Other than that water leaks can be a bear to find, it usually takes 2 people, one with a garden hose running it on the outside of the vehicle in the suspected area while the other is inside looking for the leak (gets real fun in trunks). You may also have to remove stuff to put your eyes on where the leak is coming from. If you recently had a windshield replace suspect it, it might not have sealed correctly. Lastly know that GM’s are kinda famous for rusting out in the area beneath the windshield, in the end it may need to be removed to inspect the area beneath it.
Now that I think about it I have been running my AC a lot lately but I can’t recall if it’s that or I really have a leak somewhere, And I did have my windshield replaced a little while back so that could be the culprit but I don’t feel right calling that because I’ve gotten wet before that while driving before that too looked like it was coming from the top of the door somewhere but I could never find it and this is the first time it’s ever been a big puddle like that, Looks like I have some work to do I have a few suspected areas i’m going to spray with the hose and I want to check the AC drain too

Welcome to the forums !
Does the moisture happen to smell like antifreeze ? if so you may have a leak in the heater core. normally heater core leaks make the carpet wet on the pass side but it is possible the coolant found a way to travel to the driver side ( providing the fluid is antifreeze ) I would recommend pressure testing the cooling system and checking for leaks.
Thanks for the quick response, I just went out to make sure but we had a down pour last night so it’s definitely the rain water coming in, I’m having a hard time finding where it’s coming in because the other thing is too that the door panel wasn’t even wet
