I can see where you are coming from, however it would be wrong for me to judge anyone that posts anything related this field. Yes I’ve work on my own cars for years, and yes I’m going back to school to get a degree in Auto Technology; but I can’t judge anyone that has worked in this field for years and years making a living out of it. Its all good information, just be sure to work safe. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey All,

Can’t help but thinking that this topic shouldn’t be on this forum. Like I Sparkyxxxx said, “use all info on internet to your advantage and leave the pieces you don’t trust. Let’s not start bashing other people.

              Just my 2 cents.

              Sincerely,
              Len
I agree and disagree.

The problem is that when someone goes on the net and makes repair videos and they tell their audience they have 40 years of experience and are an expert in their field the info should be good.

Notice my critique of Scotty’s videos are not hateful or personal. It is when he does not show good safe technique or the use of proper tools.

*Not explaining where a jack or jack stand should go.
*using incorrect tools or tools in an unsafe manner flat head screwdriver as a punch or using an adjustable wrench .
              *no safety glasses

If you make videos aimed at DIYers you owe it to them to teach them proper technique and to foster good habits when it comes to safety.
Both. At the time I had the K car and Toyota, I ran Havoline conventional oil with the Restore and a top name oil filter. I changed the oil and filter royally every 3,000 miles. I still run the restore but I now use AMSOIL and filters. If you have a vehicle with 100,000 miles on it; check the engine compression. Add the Restore, and drive it 500 miles; and check the compression again. You will see a compression improvement. The stuff works for me.

Yes, some are negatives. However, some are positives! I use Engine Restore in my vehicles, and have been for 20 years. I started using it in my 81 Plymouth Reliant K Car once it reached 60,000 miles. When I junked the car because the body rusted off, it had 300,000 miles on it. The engine still ran fine! I also used it in my 1993 Toyota Truck that I bought new when it reached 40,000 miles. I sold the truck at 272,000 miles to an individual. He drove it for years after that. Restore is the only additive I will use or recommend to other people. It has proven its self to me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Scotty’s video are good and I watch them. I’m a student at the University of Arkansas Automotive Technology. Eric’s video’s are the bomb! They have really helped me in my studies. In fact, the instructor tells the class to watch them when they have time. If you compare Eric’s video’s to Scotty’s, its like comparing a class textbook to cliff notes. Cliff notes have good information in them, and will help you pass a test, where a textbook will give you in-depth information. I say use them both to your advantage. banana:

As I understand it, Snap-on has went the way of most big companies. They are farming production of their products out to other companies to cut down on their overhead; then selling the product at an over priced rate, Typical capitalism. ๐Ÿ™

I found out about Shop Key by Snap-on. It runs about $6,000 per year! Is it any better than All Data, Mitchell on Demand, or Identifix, and is it worth the price? I was told All Data runs about $2,500 per year; but I don’t know what the others run.
