I should probably add, NEVER use an extension cord with a compressor or any high amp tool. It will have performance problems and burn the motor out faster. If you can’t get a compressor close enough then get more air hose.

I am a shop owner and I live and die by flat rate, regardless what a tech makes. I fully agree the flat rate system needs changed, I am in Ontario and I defy anyone to do half the stuff in the book at that time. If you can do every job in that time here then I will hire you and pay you double what you get now.

ahh, now i reread the whole thing, easy test to narrow it down. there is a cover under for the flex plate. could be a broken flexplate. it has the teeth on the outside under the short plastic cover, 3 bolts with 10 mm heads i think. if the plate moves easy and doesnt turn the engine with it then its a broken plate. if not then just get a trans from the scrap yard.
the way i now understand the question, it was good and bucked and came to a stop with the engine running, now the engine runs and it does not move, wheels are in park locked but move in neutral which is normal, lends to trans being ok but no guarentee
let me now if i got that wrong, it is hard enough to diagnose over the phone, let alone more difficult over typingahh, now i reread the whole thing, easy test to narrow it down. there is a cover under for the flex plate. could be a broken flexplate. it has the teeth on the outside under the short plastic cover, 3 bolts with 10 mm heads i think. if the plate moves easy and doesnt turn the engine with it then its a broken plate. if not then just get a trans from the scrap yard.

Small town of 140 000 people, there are half dozen of us shop owners that get together sometimes and swap stories and we call each other for specialty tools and advice when it is their field of expertice.

I dont understand how it can buck in park,, either there is a problem at the shift cable or valve, or it is an engine problem, a miss can be mistaken for trans trouble

Need advice #497533doesnt take much of a hit to cause major damage, there is a unnamed make and model that the dealer kept engines and right front suspension parts in stock in early 2000’s, almost every time it would slide into a curb and the lower control arm would rupture the oil pan, blew the engine almost every time.

works on any overhead valve engine. couple feet of pullstart cord is what i use but any string will work, just jam as much as will fit, a couple feet is more than plenty, and turn the engine BY HAND not with the starter motor, till it stops, thats when the string is packed in by the piston at the top and pushing the valve closed

First double check your tire pressure. One of my customers has needed tires resealed for over a year, every time they get low it does that. Wish she would just let me fix them. Could be other things, maybe alignment or other.
