Only choice you have is to get a labor guide. It will pay for itself in no time from lost hours on jobs and losing customers you over quote. It is a very important investment. I use mitchell ondemand5 on my computer, has booking and billing, labor times, and repair data. best $500 I ever spent.

I cant see it being the battery as it starts fine cold. 2 things I know usually cause this is heat soak (like previously said) and fuel dribble. Easy way to see which one, warm it up normal and shut it off immediately restart, if it starts fine it is probably fuel, if it struggles then probably heat soak. Not sure what ignition system you have but distriburtor advance weights can get stuck out and do it too then overnight work back in place but that is rare.

check with insurance, some will not cover a salvage car. check with the liscence office, they might not put plates on a salvage car. depends on each province and state.

I have had to rebuild afew of those. There should be a complete kit available that has all new bearings and seals. Make sure the kit has the lock tabs for the side bearings, likely one is broken and the bearing load backed off.

It is possable to get a bad part new out of the box but I would check the switch wires going to the alternator, good chance the wire is damaged and lightly shorting, check inside the fuse box too, I have seen problems there before. If you disconnect the plug on the alternator and the draw goes away then it is likely the alternator is faulty, if it draws unplugged then it is definitely in wiring.

Sounds like a clutch master to me. If you change it then just do the slave at the same time, if there’s junk in the system then it will be through the whole system so might as well do both the parts that wear out over time.

Yes it has been a strange winter. Eric has a video about that but I dont know computers good enough to add it to the post here. His ended up being the sway bar bushings. Maybe someone else here knows how to add the video here, it is a good one.

It is not common at all but you have done everything already that I would have checked. I had one with the same problem and it ended up was a small leak at the windshield that kept leaking behind the panel and rusted out one of the plugs to the ECU, replaced the plug and worked perfect. Not saying that is it but easy enough to check.
