It is new as of april 8, check more at collegeoftrades.ca I called them and unless I got lied to by the government,, ya that never happens,, it is the law of the land now, not just mechanics but all the trades that need liscences. I am tempted to move to the states if they would let me in. I have seen liscenced “techs” that I wouldn’t let change my oil, I have seen people working in their yard with no liscence that I want to learn from.
It can’t be base timing or it would be hard starting cold too. Heat soak is still my best guess, if you get a high torque starter or even reuse the old one get heat tape or a shield. It will help it anyways. I would get the heat tape and try that first, it will probably fix it and it is cheap.

There are PCM reprograming tools on the market but it won’t help much unless you keep using the same type of fuel. The PCM tries to recalculate constantly but relies on the standard numbers.

Best impact I have is from mac tools (ingersol) 4400 , it has had the hell beat out of it but will still take of a rig wheel after about 10 years, regular oil is the key, I take all my air tools once a year and jam ATF in them and run them unloaded, I find that takes any moisture and dirt out, then new air oil.

As for keeping posted, there was no discussion, it just happened like it or leave the trade, sorry if i sound bitter at the responce, I am just bitter about the politics.

You don’t hear much about it? Do you not need liscence renewals in the states? Can’t work in a shop past 3 months in ontario without a liscence or apprenticeship.

Ya kinda sounds like a starter bendix. Just to rule out anything else take the belt off and try it. that will eliminate all the driven components on the engine, I have seen a fan clutch make a similar sound.
