Bank 1 cat is usually the one at the front of the motor on transverse engines. I would test the 02 sensor downstream of that cat before you have a new cat put on first.

Yes, it is possible. Put die in the leak and use a UV light to trace it.

I would also recheck Compression with a different compression tester.

jumped timing would keep your valves open longer so that you can’t build as much compression as the engine calls for.

You and eric are talking about 2 different things…you were originally mentioned a sensor problem with no cel…eric is saying that is unlikely after 96 (which i agree). The fuel trims have to be a certain reading before the cel light will set…its also

Sounds electrical to me, and i dont think a cavalier has a computer reset for the windows.
