an update on it. i think i hear a vacume leak in rear end of the jeep. what could be leaking?
The map was bad but now it’s behaving different. I did post it on the car questions and now I’m starting to luck narrowing down what’s wrong. Most possibly a vaccum leak
I’ve replaced jus about everything in the past year (and did a tune up last year) and have noticed a significant improvement. it used to be a lot worse till i got to this point. the throttle body could very well be dirty ill try cleaning it sometime soon. any way on how to check the tps?
1990 Jeep Wrangler 2.5 inline 4 100,000 ish miles on the engine 252000 on the rest
update I have a new map sensor in it and now its doing something new
a treadmill motor I’ve heard generates 5 volts. or a alternator could work too. harbor freight would be the first place to look for a engine. as far as steering a simple rack and pinion steering system could work

Did you check fuel pressure?
I figured out it was the spark plugs. the gaping on them isn’t correct and they are auto light plugs. Thanks for the input I have had a lot of luck finding info on this site!!
Thank you all. it didnt need to be shimmed and its back on the road. Thanks again Guys!!!!!
Update on the issue. I finally caved and replaced the injector. Now it runs smoothe but just last night I was driving it and suddenly it acts up again. It idled fine. But on occasion it’d lose rpm. It also seemed like it didn’t like hills. The only way it’s run is if I bogged the engine down i think it might be a fuel pressure issue. But yet you can hear a hiss sometimes when standing behind it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
I’ve replaced
Timing chain, ignition module, fuel pressure regulator, the fuel pump was replaced by last owner (I’m 3rd owner) about a couple years ago, new spark plugs, distributer roter, and distributer cap, spark plug wires.Yes. And I replaced the idle air control value
