It’ll do it in neutral with the clutch engaged. Not depressing the pedal at all. It never made this noise till after I swapped out the rear leaf springs. They are supposed to be oem springs.
Your welcome. hope it works for you!
The best way to prevent rust is to wash it at a car wash regularly. That’ll wash all the salt off the paint and really help keep it free of rust. Theres a couple good under coatings like rhino liner, lizard skin etc. A good alternative if you cant find any of those is truck bed liner. Its a tough coating that protects a truck bed from rust. But on that note look over the car very closely for any spec of rust. It will spread and get worse over time so nail it while its not super bad!
Ill have to check the torque on them one of these days.could a lifter also cause this?
I a personality keying he mail and its comunicating now
I’ll check for a fuse. As to my knowledge the dome light and the obd share a fuse. I’ll check the cigarette lighter for signs of life. I’ll heck the fuses cause even if a fuse is good doesn’t mean it’s the issue or so I’ve learned
Update on the O2 sensor it seemed hard to remove but I got it out in under 20 minutes. Wd-40 and a harbor freight swivel end ratchet on a O2 sensor socket got it out no problem. It does now go into closed loop
It’s got the 3 wire set up
Yep the snap on mt2500. I got it for a real good deal. Any idea how to test the O2 sensor?
That makes a whole lot more sense now. I’ll have to clean up the 2 grounds and see what happens. The jeep runs but it’s stubborn at given moments
I’ll look into the diagnostic Manuel. And I’d like to have a fsm on hand as well since that would be a lot better than the Haynes Manuel
I’m not claiming to be a transmission expert but I know a thing or two. It sounds like your torque converter is stuck in lock up. A easy quick test is while your going 55 mph put your foot on the break very slightly and listen for the engine to rev up. If it doesn’t that means your torque converter is stuck in lockup and just like in a stick shift if you don’t put the clutch in while at a stop light in gear it’ll stall.
It’s the 2.5 i4 single port injected
try taking it to a autoparts store like autozone or orielys. they usually have a scanner that clears codes
I’d start with engine codes and even if possible live engine data
