Very interesting product right there. I could see that taking the place of JB Weld in a lot of situations. Fantastic how quick it dries.

Wheeler Dealers is a fantastic show, one of my absolute favorites.

I am sure there are some people chomping at the bit to get Jeremy Clark for their network.

Sad to say but you nailed that. Top Gear UK will never be the same.

In my industry, we spend a lot of money and time focusing on safety. One of my favorite things I have seen comes from Newport News Shipbuilding who has a safety song contest every year.

I see so often where people are trained and the supplies are there to work safely, but you still see tradesman choose not to use it. I don’t know how many times I walk off the ship and a guy that I know could of been wearing a respirator all day is blowing all kinds of black gunk out his nose.

You also have to think about what your taking home with you. Don’t give your spouse, children, etc. exposure to some of the nasty substances we work with. It wasn’t just the workers who have died of asbestos poisoning,

I wear prescription safety glasses but at work a lot of people like the Smith & Wesson Elite safety glasses.

Keep up the good work Eric, I fully support you making this promotional video. If they can help support you, your family and grow ETCG, then do as many of them as you want or desire.

Personally I think the ad is brilliant because you are putting it in the Acura Vigor. This isn’t like some run of the mill commercial on TV for a product where a paid spokesman/woman who is utilizing the product on a car they don’t own, drive, have never seen or will never see again.

I also think you did a really good job explaining the product and what it is intended to do when used properly.

I used vacuum’s similar at work all the time, they are really nice tools to have. They really excel at getting into tight corners and have really good suction. They are fantastic in my trade because I usually end up carrying 50 – 100lbs of tools in bags everyday to and from the job site. Nothing worse then having to add one of those small stinger vacuums. It’s a lot nicer to toss that light weight pneumatics in one of my tool bags.

There is nothing wrong with using a Husky ratchet and socket set. My brother has a set of them that I have used (working on his car) and have never had an issue with them. There is also nothing wrong with Gearwrench or SK that I know of.

Every brand has it’s pros and cons, what really matters is your personal opinion (your tool & your money) and what tools you are comfortable with. The best thing I can tell you is that there is not single ‘greatest maker’ of tools.

There is a serious financial aspect to this whole discussion as well. For what you can get for $200 – 300 at HD for a Husky tool kit can easily run you at least a thousand (probably more) buying the same set up (socket for socket, wrench for wrench) from SK. So if this is just a hobby, I’d stick with Husky, Kobalt, Gearwrench, Craftsman, etc., unless you really want something in particular like a Snap On ratchet or SK set of line wrenches.

A lot of it depends simply on what you are doing and what you are comfortable with. For me, I’m a Shipfitter, I do steel construction/ fabrication on ships. When I am at work there is no substitution for a $100 Starrett Combination Square, but if I am just cutting wood for a deck at home the $5.00 Johnson from Home Depot is just fine.

I also turn wrenches quite often in my profession and have never really had a problem with wrenches, sockets or ratchets from any particular reputable brands. If you use common sense and understand a tools limitations then you probably won’t have too many problems. Don’t blame a (insert any tool brand) combination wrench for breaking after beating it with a maul when you really need a slugging wrench the entire time anyway.

There is also a lot of clever marketing in the world of tool sales as well. Snap On, Mac, Matco, S&K, etc. want you purchase their $120 ratchet and $600 socket set. All of them are in the business of actually “selling” tools. They don’t want you thinking that you could get the same job done with a $25 ratchet or $120 socket set from the brick and mortar store. Why do you think they offer such good discounts to students? Get a 20 year old that credit line going with box full of that barnds tools then they typically have a customer for life. Not to mention another person to spread their gospel about how you’ll only accomplish breaking sockets and wrenches with any other brand in your box.

Keep up the good work Eric. I thought it was a very informative video, learned a few things that I did not know.

I completely agree with you, that if you can it’s best just to put on an all new caliper. I certainly understand and agree with what you did though. No reason to spend all that money on a new caliper and pads when you are going to end up changing everything out in the end anyway. Not to mention if you had just swapped out the old caliper with a new/ rebuilt one from the parts guy, then you couldn’t have really shown how the seals work as well as you did.

Some people just see what they want to see and don’t take the time to listen and view it from the other persons prospective. I think the saying is, haters gonna hate, LOL.
