Since you tried another battery and jump starting it, do the lights dim when you turn the key? Does everything else work? As nightflyr suggested, make sure all connections are tight and clean.
Interesting to note that the Nissan factory schematic College Man provided a link for has an error on the solenoid ground side. There should NOT be a connection shown between the starter motor feed wire and the solenoid-ground side, as that would become a direct short to ground when the motor is energized.
Good catch. That for sure would get it nice and hot with the key turned.
To the original poster. Good to read you got it solved.
You can try putting rtv on the corners where I believe it goes, the problem is getting the joints clean and oil free to get a good seal. It’s worth a shot if you don’t have the means to drop the pan and replace the pan gasket too. But be prepared to possibly have a worse leak then starting off with.
Eric, you did a fine job with what you had presented to you. Some people by nature go out of their way to put others down. It’s a disease of some sort. Just keep doing what your doing and who cares about them.
bondo in seams won’t last long at all. you need seam sealer. seams do expand and retract at somewhat of a different rate. how much over spray did you get? it should have been mentioned to mask the area. sorry Eric, just trying to help others as well as you. stay dirty. and where’s my shirt lol. can we get hats?

quick tip. I could do many tips lol. but as it was a hack job I just suggest wax paper instead of regular paper. it peels right off. OK, one more. bondo likes to stick to unpainted surfaces more than painted. rust needs oxygen to live. after the repair, seal the inside with undercoating, outside with paint. in the hidden areas such as behind the bumper, undercoat that as well, top it with paint

I have never received a shock from a welder. but being an electrical device. the chances are there if your not careful

every body part is structural to a point. a rocker panel is just another piece. its better to have something other than nothing

unfortunately, you will probly see hints of it. depends on how long they have been there. paint fades differently when parts of it are covered.

I’m surprised it even starts to begin with. that a side. check the basics, pay close attention to vacuum leaks
