Exactly right?? I was thinking the same thing. I dont have an exhaust back pressure gauge but Eric’s way with the vacuum gauge i can do, ill do it and see what i come up with. The engine doesnt burn a drop of oil, and i use full synthetic. There is no cat in this car. they didnt come with it back then in my country, but there are 2 resonators and a muffler.

If u mean in neutral and revving, yes it does. when i look down in d carb there is fuel spraying while i pull the throttle. And the choke is fully open for sure because its a manual choke, no fancy bimetallic strip or electrical solenoids. Another thing is i smell gas on the highway when i try to acceleration fast.
Oh an i have read eric’s article. Also there is no vacuum leak.

This one is really kinda funny i check alot of stuff.

I dont think that you should force the compressor on as you do not know what it happening in the system.
Eric’s suggesstion is good, but what i usually do is i would disconnect the fittings and unmount the compressor. Then you can turn the compressor by hand and see if it shoots oil, if it doesnt, add some ac oil to the low side port and turn and see if it shoot out the oil, if it oozes out then the compressor is definately shot, but if the shoots out then you have life left in that compressor and u can drain the oil get the manufacture spec for the amount of oil and fill it and put it back in.

I work on Nissans like these all the time so let me give my piece.
Eric is right about bleeding the cooling system and you should do that first.

now if the fans do not come on as soon as the engine is started or with the key in the on position but they do when the engine first gets hot then it is not the relays.

if all is well with the radiator and the cooling system then your next move should be to clean the coolant temperature sensor but do this with the key out before you set a code because you will have to unplug it.

if that doesnt work then it cud just mean that the fans are just flat wearing out and dont spin as fast as they used to.

so recheck your work with the cooling system and try these if that dont work.

If u wanna feel satisfied that your drain is clear, a good test that i do is to remove the vents for the center vents and squirt some water down the vent and u should see if there is any coming out the bottom, just dont over do it. if it does then u know you dont have anything to worry about.

This certainly looks like you have a radiator that is corroded inside. Aluminum radiators stay look good on the outside but corrode on the inside. i would change that radiator out, it seems to be the only thing u havent done yet. The fact that it stays cool when the hood is open also makes me think of airflow being a problem so check on your fans and make sure they engage when they need too.

Ok so i really messed up here. I do believe now that the wire wheel i used scored the surface and i will have to get them resurfaced. thanks everyone for your input. at this moment i just pasted silicone on the outer seem where it seals and leaks and it has temporarily helped on the top part so i can drive the car. I will attempt to have them resurfaced but i dont know if i will find anyone to do it yet (my country sucks with regards to these things) and hope it works out will keep you all posted.
