Well, I decided to pull the tank and test the fuel pump. This was not a hard task and once I pulled the tank and opened it up, I found the problem. Here is one of Eric’s videos for reference.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2TrjxYLyj4

Fast forward to 9:50. Somehow, the two screws that hold this piece on worked their way off and where laying on top of the fuel pump. This piece then worked itself loose and was allowing all the volume to escape. I reinstalled the two screws, slid the tank under the car hook up the feed return and electrical and what do you know perfect fuel pressure and she purred like a kitten. I reinstalled the tank and helped the neighbor for cheaper than I thought. Thanks for all the help.

        EndSupremacy,

Thank you for the input, but the relay is just doing its job. If testing the fuel pump a few times by turning the key on ruins the relay, then wouldn’t driving the car for a week do the same thing??? The relay is also easily accesable if something was to happen at a latter date. Not being rude in any way, I am just trying to understand your reasoning behinde replaceing something that “Might” go bad.

Thanks Eric. I will keep this updated. Once I find out if the fuel pump is the culprit, I will mark this thread answered. The fuel pump has been ordered and will hopefully make it by Saturday.

I forgot to mention that I did check the inertia switch, and it was not tripped. I tried to push the button down but no click. Thanks for that info and I think a new pump is soon to come.

            John,

I was going to try and test this line going to the filter, but do not have a fitting to hook into the quickconnect. I will see if I can come up with something this afternoon. Thanks for the post to that fuel pump. Is it really an airtex pump??? You bought from the same vendor, so just want to make sure that it is an airtex pump. If so I will probably order one of those as I am helping a neighbor and money does not grow on trees. Thanks for the links, and I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the input, but I can not locate the connector or a spot to access it. I watched a video of Ericthecarguy replacing a fuel pump in a 99 Taurus and noticed that he could only see it once dropping the tank?? Maybe there is an easier way??? If anyone knows of a way to access the fuel pump plug, please let me know.

Test the injector with an ohm meter. Test the resistance of the injector and see what you get. That will tell you if you have high or low impedence injectors. I will have to do some searching and see if I can find something about your ecu signal. Are you switching injectors or do you just want to remove the box????? If it has a resistor I am willing to bet the ecu signal is high and the injectors are low. This is why the box is needed. Unless you change the type of injectors, you will always need this box.

The resistor box (If I understand your question) is for the injectors? Low impedence injectors need this resistor box because the signal coming from some ecu’s equals 12-15ohms (high z). Low z injectors operate on 4-6 ohms. Again, I am not to familar with honda but I do know that they run a low impedence injector. Another thing is if the ecu supplies ohms for low z injectors you will not need a resistor.

From your question the head would play no part in need an injector resistor box. The injectors that are being used would influence wether or not you need the resistor box.

I used duplicolor semi-gloss engine enamle on the bay. I did not like the look of mate black and full gloss would make it harder to find leaks. I did let it cure for 7 or more days and it seemed to help. It still gets dings in it put with some plastic and tap, you can touch it up. FWIW my transmission was no walk in the park. It was a great learning experience and if I ever need something I will know what I am looking at, but I do not know if I will embark on another rebuild any time soon.

                      Quoted From TexasCoder:

WOW! That is awesome, thank you for posting this! I love the DSM machines (Talon/Laser/Eclipse), I would love to see photos of this when you get a chance.

This Eagle sounds like a beast!

Have you taken it to the track and gotten a 1/4 mile time on it?

What PSI are you running on the turbo?

Photos are uploading now so should be up soon if I can figure how to post them:)

Thank you for the complement. I have taken it to the track twice, but both times I could not get a good launch. I could not break a 2.0 60′. On the bright side, I trapped a high of 123MPH. This should put me deep into the 11’s if I can learn how to drive. 🙂 At this moment, I have a best of 12.1 at 121MPH with a 2.0 60′ at 28lbs. Updated for your viewing pleasure. I uploaded some before and afters along with production pics. The engine bay is a little different with a catch can and a few other goodies but for the most part the same. Let me know what you think.
