          Following.

My 2004 acura is EXACTLY the same, except tranny fluid level is perfect.

No one else thinks it’s a big deal, but it drives me crazy! & I have the exact same car in a 99 & that does not do it… Its silent. You expect that with acura.

I’ve been thinking a belt, but all except the timing belt are brand new. None fixed the whining. Sadly the timing belt has 90,00 mile on it. So maybe timing?

Except…my acura came with this fake hard plastic key. Theres a tiny panel next to the gear shifter that lifts off (but hard to get off) if the Tran wont shift. Then you stick this false key into the slot & you can manually shift the trans with that so at least its not completely frozen & locked,

that little cover is missing & so is that false key, so im wondering if it had a trans problem, & perhsps it was replaced with a crappy aftermarket that acuras detest. i need to have it checked at a transmission place.

I am the only driver of both. The 1999 has 213,+++, & gets about 22-26mpg depending on time of year regardless of where I drive. It also has problems. … needed coil packs this year, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, it currently has bald tires, & needs a new fuel pump. Its misfiring & stalling but stil gets 10mpg better than the 2004 with 198,+++ miles.

Posted a minute ago the CEL came on today. Codes for o2 sensors even tho we just changed them last week, thermostat & catalytic converter, which I thought was the problem this whole time. Unfortunately, some people don’t Like to listen. They like to make assumptions before having all the info. Thank you for asking before assuming.

              🙂

Sorry to step on all your male egos, but if you are one of the guys who are telling me 14 is normal, you are WRONG!!! CEL came on today…code for o2 sensors ( even tho they were replaced last week), a bad cat & bad thermostat!!!! The after market cat is a single bed converter, & my acura requires a dual bed converter. So o2 sensors are not getting up to temp because the single bed aftermarket cat is not designed for this car & thrpwing off the computer, resulting in a very rich mixture, which is eating all my gas.

Sorry guys! Obviously you guys never learned, NEVER question a woman’s intuition!!!

                      😀

Fine, you need technical, 99% is highway miles. I live literally 1,000ft from the highway entrance. The school is one mile when we get off. Acura does not do a 4wd sedan smarty pants. Implying its normal & expected that my 2 same cars get a 10mile per gallon difference is ignorant. Or you really think I’m a moron! Either way, you are wrong!! If anything, the older car with more miles with some mechanical problems should NOT be getting 10mpg better. End of story. Its not the road, or driving habit, or gas, or the unicorn farm drinking the gas out of the car. If you dont have a MECHANICAL explanation, than you have no explanation.

I am currently the only driver of both. I work from home, so the cars makes the same trips…out my rd, & in 2 minutes on the highway. Go 7 miles, get off & go about 1 miles on farm roads to drop my son at school. Hes getting his license in a few months which is why we bought the 2nd car. My son probably gets better gas mileage than me in both cars, but the 04 gets bad mileage regardless of who’s driving. That’s pretty much the only driving we do. The store is near his school, & I can walk to stuff in my town. I drive 25 min (about 30 miles each way) on the highway once a week to rehearsal, but that’s a straight road all the way, quite flat, & I set the cruise control & sail on down.
